This year our Spring Exhibition will be held at Gallery 66 in The Old High Street and will be open to the public from Thursday 23rd May- Monday 3rd June. Below is information for artists on how to exhibit.

Information for exhibitors

  • Anyone can join Folkestone Art Society and exhibit at our shows. We do not ‘jury’ entries so any member can put forward works for inclusion and they will be included. Work submitted should not have been shown in a member’s exhibition previously. However, exhibitors must be a current member of the Society to exhibit. So, if you wish to exhibit but are currently not a member, please purchase a membership on our Join page first
  • Members wishing to exhibit their work can purchase an exhibiting ticket up to and including 21st May 2024 after which it will not be possible to purchase new tickets for practical organisational reasons
  • Members can submit up to two pieces of artwork to be exhibited. Hanging space and/or display space for up to 2 framed/3D items is offered to all artists (max dimensions for 2D artwork is ‘A4 within a frame of max dimensions A3’ with D rings & cord for hanging – max dimensions for 3D artwork is 30cm at base x 40cm high)
  • A ticket for the required number of exhibits (1 or 2) can be purchased below (NB please choose only one)
  • You will be sent an exhibition entry form soon after your purchase which you then need to complete and bring with you with your exhibits
  • A spare exhibit can be brought to replace any sold item. This should be suitably wrapped and labelled
  • All artworks should have a sticky label on the back with the name of the artist, title of work, price and medium (3D works should have a label suitably attached)
  • Artists can also bring 2 browsers (wrapped & labelled: artist, title of work, price and medium) and 10 cards (wrapped and labelled with artists name and price) at no extra cost, provided an exhibiting ticket is purchased
  • Commission will be 25% on all sales 
  • Artists are to bring their work on Wednesday 22nd May between 10am and 12pm for hanging
  • The exhibition will be open 11am – 4pm each day, running from 23rd May to 3rd June inclusive
  • Artists can collect unsold work on 4th June between 10am and 12pm
  • There will be an open preview for artists, guests and members on 23rd May, between 5pm and 8pm
  • We will be running a stewarding rota throughout the exhibition which you will be invited to sign up for when you drop off your artwork on Wednesday 22nd May
  • We will need volunteers to both mount and or dismantle the exhibition so please let Amanda exhibitions@folkestoneartsociety.org.uk or Laura events@folkestoneartsociety.org.uk know if you can help

NB: The Society has Public Liability insurance for its events but this does not include cover for the artworks. This must be arranged by yourself if you want to insure your entries.
