Our Spring Exhibition will be taking place this year at the Folkestone Art Gallery between 11 and 17 May. Find out more and book your exhibiting tickets below.

  • Who can exhibit? Any current (paid up) member of the Folkestone Art Society
  • What to submit?
    • Theme: We have suggested (though not exclusive) the theme ‘Folkestone’ for the show, so would welcome works that celebrate our home town!
    • Number of submissions per artist: Members can exhibit up to three works. If you would like to submit more than 3 works contact us for approval which will be subject to capacity and demand
    • Sizes, Pricing and Labelling: Exhibiting tickets can be bought below (scroll down). Pricing is by size of works, as set out below:
      • 3D works – £7 per work, to be submitted with label attached
      • 2D items should be mounted and/or framed and fitted with D rings and cord, labelled on the reverse
      • 2D small (max size 30cm x 30cm including frame) – £7 per work
      • 2D medium (max size 50cm x 50cm including frame) – £10 per work
      • 2D large (max size 100cm x 100cm including frame) – £15 per work
      • XXL – due to capacity considerations we cannot accept XXL/easel works at the Spring Exhibition – sorry!
      • Commission: Commission will be payable on all items sold, at 25% of the sale price, so please consider that as you price your works
      • Labelling: It is essential that all works are labelled! 3D items should have a label attached to each work. 2D works should be labelled on the back with title, medium, artist name and price. Additionally you will be asked to complete a submission form at or before you drop off your work (this will be emailed to you)
    • Cards and Browsers: Exhibiting members may submit up to 5 cellophane wrapped and labelled browsers & up to 20 wrapped and labelled cards free of charge
  • Venue: Folkestone Art Gallery, between the Old High Street and Tontine Street. See the gallery website for more information
  • Dates: Key dates are as below – please put these in your diary!
    • Exhibition opening hours for the public: The exhibition will be open to the public between 11am and 5pm each day between Friday 12 May and Tuesday 16 May
    • Drop off and setting up: Artists will be expected to bring their works to the gallery (Tontine Street entrance) between 10am and 12pm on Thursday 11 May, so that it can be displayed
    • Preview: There will be a preview event on 11 May between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. The preview is open to artists, other Members of the Folkestone Art Society, as well as any Members’ family and guests
    • Collecting unsold work: Any unsold work must be collected on 17 May between 11 and 1pm
  • Help with stewarding and assistance with set up / take down: We expect members – particularly exhibiting members – will wish to volunteer to help run the exhibition. Help is required:
    • with set up on 11 May between 11am and 5pm
    • with stewarding each day the exhibition is open, for half day shifts
    • with take down on 17 May between 11am and 5pm
